PHS Softball Loses Two

The Pettisville softball team lost Buckeye Border Conference contests to North Central and Stryker last week.

The Birds are 1-7, 0-5 BBC on the season.

North Central 16, PHS 7

Pettisville hosted North Central, Monday, April 15.

The Eagles (5-7, 3-2 BBC) led 4-2 after one, 9-5 after two, 13-6 after four, and 13- 7 after five before scoring three runs in the seventh for the 16-7 victory.

Mackenzie Morgan suffered the loss on the mound. In four innings she allowed 13 runs on 12 hits, struck out two and walked three.

The Birds had nine hits. Elise Hartzler had a double and three singles; Morgan, a home run and a single; and Kaylee Grime, two singles.

Stryker 17, PHS 3

Stryker (2-7, 2-3 BBC) defeated the Birds 17-3, Tuesday, April 16, at Pettisville.

Morgan was the hard-luck loser on the mound. In three innings she allowed 10 runs on nine hits, struck out two, and walked three.

PHS had 11 hits. Hartzler had three singles; Morgan, a double and a single; and Grimm, two singles.
