PHS Soccer Sets Record With Win

The Pettisville soccer team traveled to Bowsher, Thursday, Oct. 9 for their final game of the season.

Entering with a 10-5 record, the Birds won 3-0 to finish the regular season with an 11-5 record, which set the Pettisville record for most soccer wins in a regular season.

Pettisville started attacking the Rebel goal right away, amassing a total of 15 shots on goal. The Birds’ shooting was finally rewarded when Phillip Roth blasted a ball off the right post into the back of the net.

That was the only goal of the first half for a 1-0 halftime score.

Roth struck again in the second half when he finished a cross from Jacob Rupp to give the Birds a 2-0 lead.

Jeremy Rupp finished the scoring when he received a pass from Jordan Klopfenstein and shot the ball into the left of the goal out of reach of the Bowsher keeper.

The Rebels were unable to put the ball past the Pettisville defense of Jacob Nofziger, Clay Norris, Kyle Graber, Jor- dan Lemley, and goalie Andy Switzer, who earned their fifth shutout of the season.
