Three Pettisville High School graduates and Bluffton University students are participating in cross-cultural experiences.
Jared Rohrer-Meck, PHS ‘07, son of Marvin and Darlene, Archbold, and Josh Bruner, PHS ‘08, son of Mark and Jane, Wauseon, are in Israel/Palestine, May 10-26.
They will explore signifi- cant biblical and historical sites and meet with Israeli and Palestinian people.
Students will focus on the geography and archaeology of the region, the history of the land and its peoples and current religious and political conflicts in the Middle East.
Students will stay in hotels, at Bethlehem Bible College, and in Palestinian homes. Interesting side activities will involve walking the Old City Jerusalem streets where Jesus walked, floating in the Dead Sea, riding a cable car to the top of Masada and eating St. Peters fish at the Sea of Galilee.
Rohrer-Meck is a junior majoring in computer science.
Bruner is a sophomore majoring in accounting.
Britany Waidelich, PHS ‘07, daughter of Michael and Eileen, Archbold, is in New York City, N.Y., May 11-27.
She will explore the political, economic and historical foundations of the city’s five boroughs. Students will participate in service-learning projects within the Brooklyn and Washington Heights neighborhoods and visit cultural and historical areas.
Waidelich is a junior majoring in fashion interiors retail merchandising and design with a minor in business administration.
