PHS Girls Fly Past Eagles To Win Opener




Leading 11-4 after the first quarter, the Pettisville girls basketball team played even with North Central the rest of the game to win their season opener 42-36, Friday, Nov. 24, at NC.

“We got off to a fairly quick start in the first half,” said Jason Waldvogel, PHS head coach.

“I thought North Central came out energized after the half and started to knock down shots. We made some key defensive stops in the fourth quarter.

“I thought we had good contributions from everyone on the team tonight.”

Morgan Leppelmeier led the Birds, with 14 points. Nichole Foor was also in double figures, with 10.

Sidney McKarnes led the Eagles, with 10 points. NC hit seven three-pointers.

Pettisville was 8-17 at the foul line, while NC was 3-6.
