Wauseon jumped out to a 17-1 lead and Pettisville never recovered, as the Indians defeated the Birds 51- 40 in their non-league girls basketball season opener, Friday, Nov. 23, in the Bird Cage.

“Wauseon was the more aggressive team to start the game,” said Jason Waldvogel, PHS head coach. “We played tentative until the second half when we felt our backs were against the wall.”

Wauseon’s Annette Stidham led all scorers with 21 points.

“Stidham was tough for us to handle in the lane,” said Waldvogel.
