PHS Girls End Regular Season With Loss To Holgate Tigers

Holgate (16-6) outscored Pettisville 18-9 in the first quarter and 19-8 in the fourth on its way to a 57-38 non-league victory, Monday, Feb. 18, in girls basketball action at Pettisville.

The difference was at the foul line, as Holgate was 17- 20 while PHS was 6-9.

Morgan Leppelmeier led the Birds with 20 points.

Four Tigers scored in double figures. Madilyn Hohenberger led all scorers, with 21 points. Bailey Plott scored 13, while Justine Eis and Reana Willett each scored 10.

District

Top-seeded Stryker (22-2) plays fifth-seeded Edgerton (13-11) in a district semifinal, tomorrow, Thursday, 6:15 pm, at Archbold.

The second-seeded Blackbirds (16-7) play seventhseeded North Central (7-15), who upset third-seeded Toledo Christian 46-38 in their sectional final, in tomorrow’s nightcap at 8 pm.

Winners play for the district championship, Saturday, March 2, 7 pm, at Archbold.
