PHS Girls Beat Fairview 59-30

Pettisville raced out to a 14-4 first quarter lead and never looked back, beating Fairview 59-30 on the road, Friday, Dec. 21.

“We played well defensively tonight, and were very balanced on the offensive end as well,” said Jason Waldvogel, PHS head coach.

The Birds (5-3) used a 21- 10 second quarter to extend the lead to 35-14 at the half.

Fairview won the third quarter 12-11, but the Birds flew away in the fourth 13- 4 for the 29-point margin of victory.

Dana Fricke led all scorers with 20 points. Lauren Hostetler scored 18 and Mikala Avina scored 10 for PHS.

Brittany Conkey led the Apaches (1-8) with 15.

Pettisville was 21-48 from the field for 44% and 13-21 at the foul line for 57%. Fairview was 9-33 from the field for an ice-cold 27% and 12-15 from the foul line for 80%.

The Birds grabbed 22 rebounds to Fairview’s 21, but the Apaches committed 18 turnovers to Pettisville’s nine.
