PHS Girls Beat Cadets, Up BBC Record To 3-0



Pettisville jumped out to an 18-7 first-quarter lead and scored in double digits in every quarter on its way to a 66-36 Buckeye Border Conference girls basketball victory at Hilltop, Friday, Dec. 18.

The Birds (4-2) led 33-18 at the half and outscored the Cadets 33-18 in the second half for the 30-point victory.

“Our pressure was the difference tonight, and we got great production out of our bench,” said Jason Waldvogel, PHS head coach.

Erica King led all scorers with 20 points. Kaitlyn Nofziger was also in double figures, with 18.

PHS was 23-41 from the field for 56% and 19-28 at the foul line for 69%. Hilltop was 13- 39 from the field for 33% and 10-18 at the line for 56%.

The Pettisville junior varsity upped its record to 6-0, 3-0 BBC with a 41-17 victory. Katie Yoder led the Birds with 16 points.

Pettisville is off until Monday, Dec. 28, when the Birds host Archbold.
