PHS Girls 19th At Tiffin Carnival

The Pettisville girls cross country team finished 19th out of 45 teams in the Division III girls varsity race at the Tiffin Carnival, Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Blackbird boys team finished 36th out of 44 teams in the Division III-A boys race.

Girls Div. III Varsity

Minster won with a team score of 58 points. St. Thomas Aquinas was second, with 93, and Russia took third with 198.

Pettisville finished with 549 points to place 19th.

Alexa Leppelmeier led the PHS girls, placing 15th in 20 minutes, nine seconds.

Nichole Foor followed Leppelmeier into the chute, placing 18th in 20:15.

Elizabeth Miller was 115th in 22:56; Natalie Hoffmire was 186th in 24:12, and Sarah Herring was 232nd in 25:16.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 243. Jaelyn Rufenacht 25:31.4; 244. Andrea Aeschliman 25:31.7.

Athena Welsch of St. Thomas Aquinas won the race in 18:24. There were 320 runners.

 

 

Girls Open

Krystine Davis placed 129th in the Div. II-III girls open race, finishing in 26:06. Hannah Herring was 154th in 26:35, and Katie Hauter was 303rd in 33:44.

Bluffton’s Elizabeth Nisley won in 20:44. There were 324 runners.

Boys Div. III-A Varsity

Maplewood won with 108 points. St. Thomas Aquinas was second with 114, and Liberty Center was third with 174.

Pettisville finished with 885 points for 36th.

Ben Gray was the first Blackbird into the chute. He placed 140th in 18:53.

Logan Rufenacht was 145th in 18:59; Caleb Nolander, 182nd, 19:45; Nathan Siller, 202nd in 20:13; and Evan Rufenacht, 222nd in 20:37.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 236. Evan Warner 20:53; 242. Brayden Hernandez 21:08.

Jacob Canford of St. Thomas

Aquinas won in 15:59. There were 298 runners.

Boys Open

Clay Waidelich ran in the Div. III boys open race. He placed 118th in 22:59.

Zach Richard of St. Thomas Aquinas won in 17:45. There were 176 runners.
