PHS Girls 17th, Boys 20th At Tiffin Carnival

The Pettisville girls cross country team placed 17th at the Tiffin Carnival, Saturday, Sept. 9, while the boys team was 20th.

Girls

Pettisville finished with 587 points in the Division III Varsity race. Minster defended its title, winning with 55 points. Mount Gilead was second with 68, and West Liberty Salem was third with 171.

There were 54 teams and 371 runners in the race.

Kate Stuber was the first Blackbird into the chute. She placed 56th in 21:01.

Kelly Miller was next, placing 84th in 21:39. Morgan Leppelmeier finished 90th in 21:42, Sarah Foor was 138th in 22:29, and Ava Hoylman was 236th in 24:18.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 321. Ellie Wixom 26:30; 364. Madeline Shumaker 32:19.

Minster’s Emma Watcke won in 18:28.

Boys

Pettisville finished with 562 points in the Div. III-A Varsity race. East Canton won with 112 points, while Fort Loramie was second with 212 and Maplewood was third with 214.

 

 

There were 41 teams and 284 runners.

Max Leppelmeier was the first Bird into the chute, placing 61st in 17:37.0. Logan Rufenacht was right behind, finishing 64th in 17:37.3.

Jaret Rychener was 103rd in 18:19; Caleb Nolander placed 154th in 18:58; and Calvin Nofziger was 190th in 19:26.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 248. Evan Warner 20:49.

Colonel Crawford’s Chad Johnson won in 15:09.
