PHS Boys Win Second BBC Jamboree Of Year

The Pettisville boys cross country team won its second straight Buckeye Border Conference Jamboree of the season, Tuesday, Oct. 2, at North Central.

The Birds won with a team score of 32 points. Fayette was second with 58.

The Eagles won the girls race with 48 points. Hilltop was second with 53. Pettisville was fourth with 83.

Boys

Pettisville 32, Fayette 58, Stryker 70, Hilltop 100, Edon 125, North Central 167

Dominic Frey was the first Blackbird to finish. He placed second in 17 minutes, one second.

The next six Blackbirds finished each other into the shoot. Jeremy Mann was sixth in 17:22; Tanner Rufenacht was seventh in 17:31; Tim Iott was eighth in 17:40; and Dan Sauder was ninth in 17:41 to finish the team scoring.

Fayette’s Skylar Lantz repeated his winning ways from the first BBC Jamboree, placing first in 16:36.

Girls

Fayette 48, Hilltop 53, Stryker 75, Pettisville 83, Edon 103, North Central 175

Samantha Shinhearl was the first PHS runner to finish.

She placed sixth in 21:54.

Grace Friend was 10th in 22:28, and Taylor D’Alelio was 19th in 23:49. Amber Dykstra was 22nd in 24:14, and Jaelyn Rufenacht finished the scoring runners for PHS, placing 26th in 24:36.
