PHS Baseball Wins Three, Raises Record To 11-3

The Pettisville baseball team defeated Fayette twice in Buckeye Border Conference action and defeated Edgerton in a non-league game last week to improve to 11-3, 6-2 BBC.

PHS 7, Edgerton 3

The Birds traveled to Edgerton, Monday, April 26, and came home with a 7-3 victory.

PHS scored three runs in the first inning and four in the seventh.

The Bulldogs (8-10) scored single runs in the second, third, and fourth innings.

Gideon Myers was the winning pitcher. In six innings he allowed three runs on six hits, struck out two, and walked three.

Josh Norr hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to lead the Birds. He also had a base hit and totaled four runs batted in.

Josh Horning had two base hits. Myers, Nate Keim, Brayden Barrett, and Jake King each had a base hit; Keim had an RBI.

PHS 17, Fayette 0

Horning pitched a fivehit shutout against Fayette, Tuesday, April 27, at Pettisville.

In five innings he allowed no runs, struck out seven, and walked one.

Keim hit a triple and a single with two RBIs. Norr hit a double and a single with two RBIs. Horning hit a double and a single; Isaac St. John had a pair of base hits and two RBIs; and Colton Wood had a single with two RBIs.

Luke VanDenBerghe, Anthony Smith, and Nate Rupp each had a base hit.

PHS 16, Fayette 2

The Birds traveled to Fayette (2-8, 0-6 BBC), Friday, April 30, for their second BBC contest in two days.

Myers was the winning pitcher. In four innings he allowed no runs on two hits, struck out five, and walked two.

Keim led PHS at the plate with a home run, triple, single, and two RBIs.

Barrett hit two triples and a single with an RBI. Norr and Horning each hit a triple with an RBI. Josh Basselman hit two singles and two RBIs. King had a pair of singles with two RBIs.
