Eight Pettisville High School accounting students earned awards in an accounting competition sponsored by the University of Findlay earlier this month.

Breanna Holsopple, a junior, earned first place in the Accounting 1 division. She will receive a scholarship for her finish.

In the same division, Alyssa Beck and Jimmie Baatz tied for second place, and Lucas Nofziger finished eighth.

In the Accounting 2 division, seniors Jodi Spotts and Josh Bruner tied for second, with Logan Frey earning fourth and Hannah Beck finishing fifth.

Students from 15 schools competed. There were over 150 contestants.

PHS students brought home more than their share of the awards, earning 8 of the 20 available.
