The Pettisville girls volleyball team won four of its last five matches, including three last week. Their season record is 9-9.
It took five games, but the Birds defeated the pesky Montpelier Locomotives 18-25, 25- 20, 25-19, 19-25, 15-6, Monday, Oct. 1.
Pettisville beat Fayette for the second time this season with a 25-19, 25-10, 26-24 Buckeye Border Conference victory, Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The Birds upped their BBC record to 6-2 with a 25-11, 25- 15, 25-18 win at North Central, Thursday, Oct. 4.

Haley Nofziger had nine kills and Katie Weber, seven, to lead the Bird attack. Karina Rohrer- Meck and Chelsea Schmucker each had four.
Pettisville served 10 aces and was 93/101 in serving. Jodi Spotts served four of the 10.
Nofziger and Jessica Henrie each had solo blocks.
The Pettisville junior varsity won 25-19, 25-16.

The Birds served 13 aces and were 36/42 in serve reception. Rohrer-Meck was 67/68 in setting. Weber hit eight kills; Nofziger hit six kills and had two solo blocks. Spotts had four kills; Schmucker, three; and Henrie, one.
The PHS JV won 25-23, 25- 20.

Pettisville beat the Eagles the second time this season.
The Birds were 69/73 in serving and 41/43 in serve reception. Schmucker served four aces to lead PHS.
Rohrer-Meck was 52/52 in setting. Spotts and Weber each had six kills; Nofziger had five; Schmucker, two; and Henrie, one.
Henrie had four solo blocks; Nofziger had two.
