Pettisville Volleyball Raises Record To 4-1

Pettisville defeated Wauseon and Ayersville last week to raise its record to 4- 1 in volleyball action.

The Birds flew to Wauseon, Monday, Aug. 26, and defeated the Indians in three games, 25-23, 25-8, 25-18.

PHS hosted Ayersville, Thursday, Aug. 29. A rivalry that seems to go four or five games every year, the Birds prevailed, 25-20, 27-29, 25- 15, 25-21.

Serving: Stephanie Hubby 17-20, four aces; Yari Coronado and Dana Fricke, 1 ace each; Brooke Waidelich 16- 17. Team: 65-73, 6 aces.

Digs: S. Hubby 26. Team: 52.

Setting: Kate Kauffman 47-48, Waidelich 23-41. Team: 88-89.

Attacks: Emily Hubby 31- 36, 13 kills; Jordyn Pursel 19-25, 11 kills; Fricke 16- 18, 8 kills. Team: 81-101, 44 kills.

Solo blocks: Fricke 2.

Pettisville won the junior varsity contest 25-20, 24-26, 25-19.

Setting: Kauffman 48-48, Waidelich 43-43. Team: 95- 95.

Attacks: Pursel 27-32, 15 kills; E. Hubby 34-39, 14 kills; Fricke 23-28, 13 kills. Team: 113-131, 48 kills.

Solo blocks: Amber Klopfenstein and Fricke, 2 each.

Pettisville (4-1) won the JV contest 25-21, 25-11.
