The Pettisville softball team is 6-6, 4-3 in the Buckeye Border Conference after one win and three losses last week.
Hilltop 7, PHS 3
Hilltop (14-2), which sits atop the BBC standings at 7-0, came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Birds 7- 3, Monday, April 25, at West Unity.
The Cadets scored three runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, and one in the sixth.
The Birds finished with one in the seventh.
Kyra Behnfeldt suffered the loss. In six innings she allowed seven runs on seven hits, struck out one, and walked three.
The Birds recorded 13 hits. Amber Klopfenstein had two singles and a double. Kaija Blosser had a single and a double; Andrea Flory and Jasmyn Barton each had two singles; and Mallory Riegsecker had a double.
Behnfeldt, Sami Tilley, and Jaelyn Rufenacht each recorded a single.
LC 8, PHS 3
The Birds were back on the road, Tuesday, April 26, and suffered an 8-3 non-league loss at Liberty Center.
PHS led 2-1 going into the bottom of the third, when the Tigers scored three runs to take a 3-2 lead.
The Birds tied the score at 3 with a run in the fourth.
LC (4-7) scored twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth for the five-run margin of victory.
Behnfeldt was the hardluck loser. In six innings she allowed eight runs on 10 hits, struck out one, and walked four.
Pettisville recorded five hits. Riegsecker had a double; Klopfenstein had two singles; Behnfeldt and Marissa Beck each had a single.
PHS 11, Stryker 1
Pettisville hosted Stryker (1-10, 1-5 BBC), Thursday, April 28, for a BBC contest.
The Birds scored in every inning to win 11-1 in five innings.
Behnfeldt was the winning pitcher. In five innings she allowed one run on five hits, struck out three, and walked three.
PHS had 12 hits. Klopfenstein went 4-4 with two doubles, a triple, and a home run.
Behnfeldt and Blosser each had a single and a double. Rufenacht had two singles, while Tilley and Beck each hit a single.
Edgerton 9, PHS 6
Pettisville led 4-0 going into the fourth when Edgerton (10-5) tied the score with four runs in the inning.
The Birds scored individual runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth for a 6-4 advantage, but the Bulldogs scored five runs in the fifth for a 9-6 non-league victory, Friday, April 29, at Pettisville.
Behnfeldt pitched seven innings and allowed nine runs on nine hits, struck out three, and walked three.
PHS had 11 hits. Blosser led the Birds with three singles, while Klopfenstein and Behfeldt each had two.
Flory, Sydney Purtee, Tilley, and Rufenacht each had one.
