Pettisville Softball Wins First Game Of Season

The Pettisville softball team (1-3) took a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning and scored an insurance run in the seventh to win 6-4 at Swanton, Tuesday, April 8.

The Bulldogs led 1-0 after one. The Birds tied the score in the third. Both teams scored individual runs in the fourth for a tie at 2.

Pettisville took a 5-4 lead in the fifth after scoring three runs while Swanton scored only two. The final run in the seventh gave the Birds the tworun victory.

Jordan Riegsecker (1-2) was the winning pitcher. Kirsten Martinez was the losing pitcher.

Pettisville out-hit the Bulldogs 10-9. Kayla King led the Birds, going 3-4 at the plate with a double, two runs batted in, and a stolen base. Erica King was 1-4 with one RBI and a stolen base.

Alexa Short was 1-4 with two stolen bases. Drew Lantz was 1-3 with an RBI double and a stolen base.

Tressa Trent was 3-4 at the plate for Swanton. Heather Hilton was 2-3 and Courtney Terwilliger, 2-3 with a stolen base.

Games with Archbold, Holgate, and Patrick Henry were cancelled.
