Pettisville Softball Finishes Season 2-15

The Pettisville softball team lost two Buckeye Border Conference games and won one in its final games of the season last week.

PHS finished 2-15, 1-11 BBC.

Hilltop 10, PHS 0

Hilltop won the Buckeye Border Conference with an 11-1 record and was 18-8 overall after shutting out the Birds 10-0, Tuesday, May 14, at West Unity.

Mackenzie Morgan was the losing pitcher.

In three innings she allowed six runs on four hits, struck out none, and walked three.

Kodi Brenner pitched a no-hitter for the Cadets.

PHS 21, Fayette 10

The Birds led 10-6 after one inning, scored twice in the second, six runs in the third, and three in the fourth and run-ruled Fayette 21-10 in five innings, Wednesday, May 15, at Pettisville.

Morgan was the winning pitcher. In four innings she allowed 10 runs on seven hits, struck out three, and walked four.

PHS had 11 hits. Elise Hartzler had a double and two singles to lead the Birds. Heather Sauder had three singles, and Starr Kessinger had a double and a single.

Fayette 2, PHS 1

The Birds finished the regular season at Fayette, Thursday, May 16, and came home with a 2-1 loss.

The Eagles (1-15, 1-10 BBC) led 2-0 going into the sixth inning. Pettisville cut the difference in half with a run, but couldn’t push the tying run across the plate.

Kenzie Rivera was the losing pitcher. In four innings she allowed one run on three hits, struck out six, and walked one.

Each team had four hits. Hartzler, Morgan, Sauder, and Mya Meck each had a base hit.
