The Pettisville School Board passed a special resolution of commendation for David Deskins, former Archbold Area School District superintendent, at its Monday, Aug. 13 meeting.
The resolution was done as a gesture of appreciation for his efforts as part of the wind consortium that successfully secured funding for wind turbine projects at three Ohio school districts: Pettisville, Archbold and Kenston.
The resolution credits Deskins as being a crucial part of the team that worked to make the wind turbine projects a reality, helping to procure funds and administer the construction project.
Board members signed a special resolution to be presented to Deskins as a show of appreciation for his efforts.
The wind turbine project is still incomplete as all three schools are waiting for the blades for their turbines to be installed.
The current deadline for completion to qualify for grant funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is Wednesday, Aug. 29.
Due to the blade manufacturer being behind schedule, the school districts involved are supporting a request for a 90-day extension with the new deadline being Monday, Nov. 26.
If granted, it will be the second extension for the project.
