The Pettisville School Board approved a list of 58 candidates for graduation from Pettisville High School at its Monday, May 10 meeting.
If all of the seniors complete their graduation requirements, the Class of 2010 would tie the Class of 1973 as the largest graduating class in PHS history.
Jason Waldvogel, elementary principal, also told the board that he has received 25 to 30 applications for the fifth and sixth grade math instructor position.
Waldvogel also reported that the second grade held its annual Consumer Fair on Friday, April 30.
In a little over two hours, the second graders raised $1,136 for the Fulton County Relay for Life.
Twenty-one FFA members attended the State FFA Convention, and received several awards and honors.
Three students– Torin Blosser, Rebekah Meller, and Tim Spiess– advanced to national competition this summer.
At State Science Day, seven Pettisville students competed and five received superior ratings, while two were rated excellent.
The next board meeting is Monday, June 14, 7:30 pm, in the school library.–D.J.
