Pettisville Girls Win OG Invitational




The Pettisville girls team won the Gold race at the Ottawa- Glandorf Blue/Gold Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 16. The Pettisville girls team won the Gold race at the Ottawa- Glandorf Blue/Gold Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 16. With its first five runners all finishing in the top 20, Pettisville won the Girls Gold race at the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue/Gold Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 16.

The Birds finished with 36 points. Lincolnview was second with 65, and Crestview was third with 96.

Nichole Foor was the first PHS runner into the chute, placing fourth in 20 minutes, 43 seconds.

Kate Stuber was next, finishing eighth in 21:31. Kelly Miller was 10th in 21:59; Morgan Leppelmeier was 14th in 22:09; and Sarah Foor finished 17th in 22:37.

Lima Central Catholic’s Emily Sreenan won in 19:56.

There were 10 teams and 94 runners.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 37. Ava Hoylman 24:52; 62. Ellie Wixom 27:15; 88. Mayzie Clark 31:24; 90. Madeline Shumaker 33:36; 92. Katie Hauter 35:27; 94. Anna Hudspeath 42:50.

“Our girls ran a great team race,” said Tom Wagner, PHS head coach.

“Nichole was battling a bad cold and head congestion, so she didn’t have her best race. The other girls came up big for her.

“We should have everyone back next week, including Elizabeth Sauder for the first time. It will be exciting to see how we do.”

Girls Blue

Archbold placed third in the Girls Blue race with 94 points. St. Henry won with 63, while Coldwater was second with 81.

There were 14 teams and 134 runners.

Kylie Sauder was the first Blue Streak to finish. She placed third in 20:43.

Brittany Ramirez was next, placing ninth in 21:13. Gwynne Riley was third to finish for AHS, placing 14th in 21:40. Camryn Hudson was 21st in 22:06, and Eliza- beth Schmucker was 55th in 24:08.

Napoleon’s Sydney Neikamp won in 20:08.

Other AHS runners, their places and times: 78. Shylo Richardson 25:33; 94. Rosalyn Flores 26:40; 107. Caitlyn Beldon 29:01; 132. Natalie Roth 35:23.

Boys Gold

Pettisville finished fourth in the Boys Gold race with 120 points.

Lincolnview won with 44 points. Edgerton was second with 109, and Stryker placed third with 111.

There were 15 teams and 155 runners.

Max Leppelmeier was the first Blackbird into the chute. He placed fifth in 17:35.

Logan Rufenacht was next, finishing eighth in 17:48. Jaret Rychener was 24th in 18:48, and Calvin Nofziger was 34th in 19:05.

Caleb Nolander was the final scoring runner for Pettisville, placing 60th in 19:56.

Ottoville’s Brendon Siefker won in 16:00.

Other PHS runners, their places and times: 65. Jacob Myers 20:06; 93. Evan Warner 21:11.

Boys Blue

Archbold finished 13th in the Boys Blue race with 297 points.

Fairview won with 94. Wauseon took second with 106, and Otsego placed third with 110.

There were 19 teams and 217 runners.

Caden Garrow was the first Blue Streak to finish. He placed 18th in 17:55.

Brendon Johns was 32nd in 18:21, Adam Kinsman was 78th in 19:20, and Hunter Beaverson was 99th in 19:56.

Weston Ruffer was the final scoring runner for AHS. He placed 102nd in 20:06.

Wauseon’s Kyle Vernot won in 16:55.
