The Pettisville cross country teams ran their last regularseason meet, Thursday, Oct. 11 against four other Buckeye Border Conference teams at Hilltop.
The girls finished second behind North Central. The Pettisville boys finished third. Stryker won, and Hilltop was second.
In the girls race, Rachel Beck was the top Pettisville runner, finishing sixth in 23 minutes, 23 seconds.
She was followed by Emily Short, 9th, 23:38; Jackie Morrill, 10th, 24:06; Morgan Lantz, 12th, 24:31. Alisha Rupp, Hannah Beck, and Taylore Lantz had identical times of 25:27, with Rupp claiming 15th, Beck 16th, and Lantz 17th.
Other Pettisville runners, their places and times: 18. Rachel Giovarelli, 25:28; 20. Libbey Eicher, 25:44; 22. Alexa Short, 26:32; 23. Lin-Lin Huang, 28:38; 24. Kayla King, 29:06.
North Central’s Grace Ebersole won in 21:45.
In the boys race, Hilltop’s Elliot Livensparger won in 16:22.
Pettisville claimed the next three spots, with Alex Frey just beating teammate Austin Borton at the line to claim second. Frey and Borton showed times of 17:06.
They were followed by Lincoln Frey, 4th, 17:29; Josh Villalovos, 21st, 19:29; Josh Bruner, 31st, 20:12.
Other Pettisville runners, their places and times: 42. Harris King, 22:11; 43. Trevor Lantz, 22:11.
Both teams run at the Division III District 2 meet in Ottawa, Saturday, Oct. 20. The boys, seeded second, are scheduled for a 2 p.m. start; the girls, seeded eighth, are scheduled for a 2:45 p.m. start.- D.J. Neuenschwander
