Pettisville FFA Alumni Receive Award Jan. 26

The Pettisville FFA Alumni affiliate received a plaque from the Ohio FFA Alumni Association during the Ohio FFA Alumni Convention in Columbus, Saturday, Jan. 26.

Pettisville conducted a lunch stand and petting zoo for its promotional activity last year.

Pettisville FFA Alumni also conducts an annual Pumpkin Fest to raise funds for its scholarships and leadership activities.

They assist with the recycling program, chaperone for state and national conventions, provide jobs, coach science fair students, and make legislative contacts.

Also recognized was Jo Bruner as outstanding district member.

Jo has been an alumni member since 1996. She chaperoned state and national conventions numerous times.

She has helped with proficiency and Greenhand ceremony meals, the state alumni shopping mall, and has driven to state evaluation and Washington Leadership Conference, and served as an Ohio delegate at the National FFA Alumni meeting.

The Pettisville FFA Alumni also received second place with the affiliate basket and second in the scrapbook competition.

It was named a Gold Medal affiliate and will receive $300 for a student to attend a leadership conference this year.

Delegates to the business meeting were Gene and Donna Meller, Mick Weber, and John, Lexie and Jessie Poulson.
