Pettisville Boys Win First BBC Jamboree

The Pettisville boys cross country team won the first Buckeye Border Conference Jamboree of the season, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Fayette.

The Birds won with a team score of 31 points. Fayette was second with 59.

The Eagles won the girls race with 48 points. Hilltop was second with 51. Pettisville was fourth with 86.

Dominic Frey was the first Blackbird to finish. He placed third in 17 minutes, 44 seconds.

Tanner Rufenacht was on Frey’s heels, placing fourth in 17:49.

The next three Birds followed each other in. Jeremy Mann was seventh in 18:20, Jacob Hauter was eighth in 18:20, and Dan Sauder was ninth in 18:50.

Fayette’s Skylar Lantz won in 17:08.

Samantha Shinhearl was the first PHS runner to finish. She placed seventh in 23:20.

Grace Friend was 13th in 24:17, and Taylor D’Alelio was 17th in 24:46. Becky Tilley was 26th in 26:17. Jaelyn Rufenacht finished the scoring runners for PHS, placing 29th in 26:40.

Hilltop’s Madeleine Routhier won in 21:20.
