It was Homecoming for Pettisville, Saturday, Feb. 2, when the Blackbirds hosted the Ayersville Pilots (3-11) in a non-conference contest.

The Birds dismantled the Pilots 72-31 to raise their record to 13-4.

Graeme Jacoby scored seven first-quarter points to help PHS jump out to an 18- 3 lead.

Pettisville extended the difference to 21 points at the half for a 33-12 advantage.

A 25-point barrage in the third helped Pettisville take total command. The Birds drained four of their eight three-pointers in the period and led 58-20 with eight minutes left.

The reserves received some playing time in the fourth and outscored the Pilots 14- 11 to preserve the victory.

Jacoby and Sam Rychener each scored 14 points to lead all scorers. Logan Rufenacht added 13 points with three treys.

Ryan Clark paced Ayersville with six points.

Pettisville won the rebounding battle 28-15 and had four turnovers while the Pilots gave it away 20 times.
