The Pettisville baseball team (3-11) came up short in its Division IV sectional semifinal, losing 6-3 to Toledo Christian, Saturday, May 7, at TC.
The Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Birds scored two runs in the top of the second, but TC came back with one run in the bottom of the second to tie the score.
The Eagles added two runs in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the sixth, while Pettisville scored just one more time– in the fifth.
Landon Roth suffered the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits, striking out three, and walking one.
At the plate, Roth and Devin Beltz each had a single.
PHS 5, North Central 4
In regular-season action, Pettisville picked up its third Buckeye Border Conference victory with a 5-4 decision over North Central (3-14, 1- 6 BBC), Tuesday, May 3.
Trailing 4-3 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Birds scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to secure the win.
Christian Barhite picked up the win, giving up no runs and no hits in one inning, striking out two and walking one.
At the plate, Barhite went 2-4 with a run batted in. Roth and Dillon King each hit doubles, while John Rufenacht and Nate Hartzler each singled.

Edon bombed the Blackbirds 12-0, Thursday, May 5, dropping the Birds to 3-6 BBC.
The Bombers pounded out 13 hits to Pettisville’s three.
Roth, King and Logan Rufenacht all singled for PHS.
Barhite suffered the loss, giving up six runs on nine hits in six innings, striking out four, and walking three.
