A total of 16 Archbold Area School District students performed in band and choir events during the Ohio Music Education Association District I honors festival.
Kent Vandock, AHS choir director, said there were over 600 applications to participate in the honors festival from 60 high schools in six counties.
Performances for middle and high school students were Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Stranahan Theatre, Toledo. A rehearsal was held at Otsego High School, Thursday, Feb. 18.
Performing in the middle school honors choir from Archbold Middle School were Travis Jaramillo, Jared Dominique, Kevin Boyers, and Karis Kindinger.
High school students in the choir were Jarrett Yoder, Lucas Burnett, John Hartman, Adam Steider, Bailey Mayer, Haley Behnfeldt, Erin Nafziger, and Brie Deskins.
Competing from the band was Hope Harvey, Mary Lee Sauder, and Heather Sears.
Students were required to submit a recorded audition, and be recommended by their instructor.

(Greek for endurance or perseverance),” Vandock said.
“I never cease to be amazed by what can be accomplished in such a short time by talented, committed students, with excellent work ethics.”
