Pauline L. Lantz, age 94, of Archbold, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016, at Fairlawn Nursing Home in Archbold.
Pauline was born in Brady Township, Williams County, Ohio on Sept. 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Elmer Renaud and Esther (Shaffer) Renaud.
On June 30, 1943, she married Herbert A. Lantz, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1999.
Pauline was a member of both the Archbold United Methodist Church and the Gideon’s Auxiliary for over 60 years. She served on local, regional and state offices for both organizations.
She volunteered at CCNO, the blood bank, and Fairlawn Haven in its formative years.
She served as den mother for Cub Scouts, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, belonged to CCL, sewing club, garden club, and served as a chauffeur for many elderly people throughout the years.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte (Franco) Liotti of Colle Val d’Elsa, Sienna, Italy, and Jo Ann (Lawrence) Falcusan of Archbold; three sons, Edwin (Sue) Lantz of Springfield, Tenn., Eugene (Rhonda) Lantz of Las Vegas, Nev., and James (Dawn) Lantz of Canadensis, Pa. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased relatives include her husband, parents, and four sisters: Roberta Cooley, Florence Louys, Thelma Brenner, and Martha Beck.
Visitation will be held at the Fairlawn Haven Chapel from 9-11 a.m., today, Wednesday, July 6, 2016. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Gautsche officiating. Interment follows at the Archbold Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to The Gideons International or the Archbold United Methodist Church.
