Cheryl Barber Spires, extension educator of the Fulton County office of Ohio State University Extension, has been recognized by the Ohio Association of Extension Professionals (OAEP) for her work in family consumer sciences educational programming.
Spires received the distinguished service award on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, during the OSU Extension annual conference in Columbus.
The distinguished service award is given annually by the Ohio chapter of the National Extension Association of Family Consumer Sciences to county extension educators working in the family consumer sciences program area.
The award recognizes the staff person’s outstanding contribution of time and effort to county and statewide educational programming.
Spires specializes in nutrition education providing such programming as Dining with Diabetes, Be Healthy Now: Fulton County, and employee wellness lunch ‘n learn sessions.
