Old Photo Corner

Onekama, Mich., a beautiful place for many Archbold families who remember blue skies, pleasant days with families and friends and millions of cherished memories. It all takes place at Little Eden. The original lodge, now gone, saw it all and could tell many tales. The photo above was a postal card sent to Cara Lou DeVries from her friend Olive Rich, at Little Eden, June 24, 1946. “Dear Cara Lou, This is a view of the dorm and tennis court facing north. The lake is south. You’d be shocked to see me working so hard, I’ve been cleaning cottages, oiling floors, waxing floors, washing and ironing curtains, etc. I’ve had spare time for tennis and boating. We girls climbed a sand hill and went wading in Lake Michigan–such fun. Love Olive.”– Antique photograph from the collection of Jim Frey
