Steam engines on the New York Central taking up water on the fly, at the Pans 1 1/2 miles east of Stryker, Ohio, in 1940s. There were three tracks and each had a set of water pans over 1/4-mile long from which trains could pick up to 4,000 gallons of water if they had the proper equipment.– Antique photograph from the collection of Shirley Wyse, Pettisville
