In response to an article in last week’s edition of this newspaper, Archbold officials declined to comment.
The article focused on the question of how Peggy Oyer, a leader of the movement to stop the St. Rt. 66 relocation project, could get an answer to a question 22 months before Archbold officials had an answer in writing.
Specifically, the question was, if Archbold Village Council stopped the relocation project after completion of the feasibility study, would grant money to fund that study have to be repaid.
In an email message, Donna Dettling, village administrator, said, “Mayor (Jeff) Fryman and Council President (Kevin) Morton believe a response to your summary and email statements prior to (a joint work session between council, Fulton County commissioners, and German Township trustees) will be incomplete.
“Consequently, I was asked to convey that there will not be a response to your email dated Jan. 19 at this time.”
