Officer Stops Youths Out After Curfew

Two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, were turned over to their parents after they were caught after curfew about 1:21 am, Tuesday, June 29.

Joe Wyse, Archbold police bicycle patrol officer, stopped six persons walking near the 100 block of West Mechanic Street. Two were under 18.

A parent of one of the boys was contacted by telephone, and the parent picked up the youth.

Telephone contact could not be made with the second youth’s parents; that juvenile was transported by patrol car to the residence, where the office spoke to a parent.

Both parents were advised the parents and the youth could be issued citations for curfew violation.

Archbold curfew laws require persons age 17 to be indoors between 1 and 5 am. Those under 17 must be indoors between midnight and 6 am.
