The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced some changes to its work plans for St. Rt. 66.
The closing of St. Rt. 66 from US 6 north to Henry Co. Rd. W has been delayed until Monday, June 25.
The closing will allow workers from Gerken Paving, Napoleon, to repair culverts under the highway, and do some resurfacing.
The closure is expected to last through the month of August.
The official detour now routes northbound St. Rt. 66 traffic west on US 6 to St. Rt. 191, then north on St. Rt. 191/St. Rt. 2.
St. Rt. 2 turns east and goes into Archbold.
The detour rejoins St. Rt. 66 at the Stryker Street- North Defiance Street intersection.
Southbound traffic on St. Rt. 66 reverses the route.
The culvert replacement and resurfacing project also includes resurfacing of St. Rt. 2 from the Lutz Road (Co. Rd. D) intersection north of the village to the village limits, and from downtown Archbold west to the Fulton- Williams county line.
The St. Rt. 2 resurfacing has been postponed by ODOT until further notice.
The overall price of the project is $3.6 million.
