Nofziger Wins Kart Race In Tech Shed

Vance Nofziger, Pandora, formerly of Archbold, crossed the finish line second, but ended with the win in senior heavy class kart racing at Jackson, Mich., Thursday, June 19.

John Huffman, veteran Archbold kart racer, said he and Nofziger were racing in the senior heavy class. Nofziger had set the fastest time in qualifying; Huffman was second-fastest.

In the first heat, Nofziger was second, and Huffman third.

In the feature they again finished second and third, but Huffman said the winning kart overpowering the field, easily running away from the field.

After the race, track officials announced they were going to inspect the engines of all the competitors for illegal modifications.

The winner loaded up his racer and left before his racer could be inspected.
