Nofziger Sweeps At Jackson, Aug. 1




Vance Nofziger, Pandora, formerly of Archbold, swept the stock heavy class in kart racing at the Jackson, Mich., track, Friday, Aug. 1.

He was the fastest qualifier, won his heat by passing John Huffman, Archbold, his uncle, on the last lap, and won the class feature by passing Huffman with two to go.

Huffman was second fastest qualifier, and second in the heat and the feature.

Jeremy Mann, 13, Archbold, was second-fastest qualifier in junior econo, then won his heat and the feature.

Mark Frey, Archbold, was leading the senior econo class feature when he was stuck behind lapped traffic and Pettisville’s Danielle Frey passed him for the win.

She qualified second fastest, and won the heat race. Mark Frey was fast qualifier, but was third in the heat and the feature.

The same night on the dirt track at Edon, Kyle Beck, 13, Pettisville, was sixth in the junior restricted class feature, while Kyle DeKnight, 13, Pettisville, was ninth.

On Saturday night, Aug. 2 at Edon, DeKnight was third in junior restricted, and Beck was fourth.

Mike Overmier, Archbold, was second in the stock light class feature.

Mike Kinsman and Huffman swept their classes at Fremont Sunday, Aug. 3. Huffman was running in the stock 400 class, while Kinsman was racing in stock medium.

Racing returns to Archbold Sunday, Oct. 12.

Saturday night, Tyler Herschberger, 13 Pettisville, raced in the 250 cc open class minisprint class at Jackson.
