Nofziger Racks Up 20 Straight Kart Features

Vance Nofziger has won nine of nine feature races at the Fort Wayne, Ind. kart racing track in 2010.

Over the past couple of years, Nofziger, of Pandora, formerly of Archbold, has started 20 feature events at Ft. Wayne in the senior econo class, and won every one.

Because he doesn’t race every weekend, Nofziger was fifth in class points as of Sept. 10.

On Friday, Sept. 3, he was third in two heat races before winning the feature. On Friday, Sept. 10, he won a heat race, was third in a second, and then won the feature.

John Huffman, veteran Archbold kart racer, ran in the stock heavy class Sept. 3, and managed fourth and seventh places in heats, then was sixth in the feature.

He was second and third in heat races on Sept. 10, then finished the feature in eighth.

Huffman traveled to Fremont Sunday, Sept. 12 and swept the pro oval class, winning both heats and the feature.

John’s adult son, Brian, himself a kart veteran, took to the dirt oval at Edon, Saturday, Sept. 4, where he finished sixth in the stock heavy feature.

Steve Burkholder, Pettisville, was seventh, and Kyle DeKnight, 15, Pettisville, was eighth in the stock heavy event.
