Nofziger Continues Kart Race Dominance

Vance Nofziger, Pandora, formerly of Archbold, continued kart racing dominance at the paved oval track in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

He swept the econo senior class May 28, winning both heat races and the feature. It was his 12th feature win in a row in econo senior at Ft. Wayne.

Nofziger also took to the track in stock light, a new class for him, and swept both heats and the feature, too.

John Huffman, veteran Archbold kart racer, raced in the stock heavy class at Ft. Wayne. He won two thirdplaces finishes in heat races, and a fifth in the feature.

Rain caused havoc with schedules. Racers took to the Ft. Wayne track on June 24 to make up a race that was rained out on June 18.

With 22 karts in stock heavy, Huffman was fourth in the two heat races, then finished the feature in 10th.

Kyle DeKnight, 15, Pettisville, also ran in stock heavy that night. He was fifth in the heats. He was eighth in the consolation race, not high enough in the standings to transfer to the feature.

Huffman raced in the pro oval class at Fremont on June 27.

Rain shorted the day’s racing after one heat race, which Huffman won.

Track officials awarded the days points and prize money to heat race winners. –information
