No Action After Executive Session

The Archbold School Board met in executive session for almost two hours, Monday night, Dec. 18.

Stated reason for the closed-door session was the discussion of employment, compensation, promotion or demotion of public employees.

No action resulted from the executive session, said Aaron Rex, superintendent.

Prior to the executive session, the board voted to rescind the contract awarded to Ryan Holdgreve for junior high track coach for the 2017-18 school year.

A contract was approved for Derrick Baksa as junior high track coach for 2017- 18.

A one-year contract was approved for Lori Gault as a classified substitute for the 2017-18 school year, pending completion of background checks.

During the regular session the board approved several actions, including appropriation modifications to close out the 2017 financial records.

The hourly rate for student workers and casual laborers was increased.

First-year workers will receive $8.30 per hour. Those in their second year will receive $8.45, and those working for a third year will receive $8.60.

The new wage rates went into effect Jan. 1, per the new Ohio minimum wage.
