Tuesday, Sept. 11, marks the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on United States soil, known simply as “9/11.”
Islamic terrorists flew hijacked airliners into buildings in New York City and Washington, D.C. Nearly 3,000 people were killed.
America is recovering from the attacks, but the nation has been forever changed.
Time is dulling the memories of the horrific day. A new generation is growing up, for whom 9/11 is as distant as World War II.
But Americans must never forget the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. We must always remain vigilant against those who would do us harm.
To forget 9/11 would only compound the tragedy.
