Murbach Street Home, Cars Burglarized




A house and three cars were burglarized during the last week, leading to more than $1,300 in missing property.

John Schwind, 305 Murbach, told police on Friday, Sept. 12, that a video game console, valued at $400, plus three games, and a digital video disc movie were taken. All told, the loss was placed at $590.

Schwind told police his family had been out of town. His wife was at the home at noon; at that time, everything was fine.

The police report states at 4 pm, a neighbor noticed the side window was open at the residence, and a window air conditioner was on the ground. Police also reported a rear door knob was damaged.

The report indicates police offi cers managed to lift a partial fingerprint.

Monday Thefts

There were two reports of thefts from cars on Monday, Sept. 8.

Emily Nisely, 500 Pleasant St, told police that sometime between 7:30 pm and 9:15 pm, someone took a pocketbook out of her vehicle.

Missing were $42 in cash, credit cards, and personal papers. Police estimated the loss at $364.

Eli Baer, Archbold, told police that while his car was parked at his place of employment, Fusion Fitness Center, three DVD movies, valued at $20 each, were stolen.

Baer said a customer left the business, but then rushed back in and said Baer’s vehicle lights were on, and a man wearing a green bandana was seen rushing away. Officers checked the area, but found no one matching that description.

Baer’s vehicle was not locked.

The theft occurred between 8 pm and 8:30 pm.

Thursday Thefts

Andrea G. Dyer, Archbold, told police while her car was parked at 414 Ditto St. on Thursday, Sept. 11, someone took a purse and other items, valued at $330.

The theft is believed to have occurred between 9:15 pm and 9:30 pm.

Her vehicle was not locked.
