Millard C. Merillat
Millard C. Merillat, age 93, of Archbold, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. Prior to his retirement he had been a life-long area farmer.
He was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Franklin Township, Fulton County, the son of the late Charles and the late Hattie (Colon) Merillat. On Feb. 11, 1940 he married Evelyn Field, and she preceded him in death in 2006.
He was a member of Tedrow United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, a past member of the Ottokee Grange, and an honor-ary member of the Fulton County ARC.
He is survived by two grandchildren, David (Kelly) Marshall of St. John’s, Mich., and Teri (Jeff) Scott of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles "Bud" (Leola) Merillat of Archbold; one sister, Mina Alexander of Archbold; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Lou Ann Merillat, son Marvin Gene Merillat, and sister Edna Hootman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at the Fairlawn Haven Chapel in Archbold, with Pas-tor Kevin Cochran and Pastor Pam Short, officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery, near Pettisville.
Friends may call in the Chapel at Fairlawn Haven on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Tedrow United Methodist Church or Quadco.
