   Merlin Baumgartner, 82, of Archbold, died early Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
   Miss Baumgartner was born on April 22, 1926 in Wauseon, the daughter of the late Roland and the late Fern (Stump) Baumgartner. She attended elementary schools in Pettisville and Pike Township Fulton County and graduated from Delta High School in 1944.
   Following two years at Bowling Green State University, she was in civil service at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. Before entering the Air Force, she was employed at the Detwiler Hospital in Wauseon. Following her Air Force service, she was a public school teacher for many years.
   Surviving is a brother, John (Mary Ann) Baumgartner; a nephew, David (Riham) Baumgartner; a great-niece, Lana R. Baumgartner; and a great-nephew, Ryan D. Baumgartner. Also surviving are many friends.
   A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at the Fairlawn Chapel with Pastor David David officiating.
   Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time.
