Memorial Day services for Archbold, Pettisville, and Ridgeville Corners are Monday, May 28.
Mike Marti, an Archbold native and AHS graduate, is the speaker at the Archbold and Pettisville events. The U.S. Army recently promoted him to the rank of colonel.
He has served in intelligence posts in Iraq and in the Pentagon, and is currently attending the Army War College.
Dale Ward, a retired US. Coast Guard commander, is the speaker at Ridgeville Corners. He is a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, and held several USCG command positions on sea and land.
Today, Ward is a manage- ment consultant.
The Archbold service, conducted by Archbold American Legion Post, Buehrer-Lauber Weckesser Post 311, begins at 9:30 am at the Archbold Knights of Columbus Rebeau Hall.
At 10:30 am, members of Ridgeville Corners Ward L. Adams Post 454 will begin the Memorial Day Service at the Legion Hall there.
The Ridgeville event will feature a children’s flag drill and fly-over by F-16 jet fighters from the Ohio Air National Guard 180th Tactical Fighter Squadron.
Pettisville’s Memorial Day celebration starts with a parade at the Pettisville PARC pavilion at 11:30 am. The parade travels to the Pettisville Cemetery for services.
Then post members will travel to the Pettisville Lutheran
Cemetery for a brief service.
In case of inclement weather, the Pettisville event will be moved to the school.
