Memorial Day Planning Underway

Planning is underway for Memorial Day services in both Archbold and Ridgeville Corners.

Amy Hammersmith, commander of Archbold American Legion Buehrer-Lauber- Weckesser Post 311, said the Memorial Day service will again be held at the memorial in Memorial Park at 9:30 am, Monday, May 30.

The speaker will be a Vietnam veteran, who later went on to become a pastor. He is from Findlay.

Ted Ripke, commander of Ridgeville Corners American Legion Ward L. Adams Post 454, said the service there will start at 10:30 am.

The speaker is a surgeon who is a United States Air Force veteran, who completed his education in the ser- vice. He retired from the Air Force as a major.

In addition, Ripke said Legion officials hope the community choir will perform. The children’s flag drill will be held, as well.

The AHS band is scheduled to perform at both events.
