Steve Switzer, superintendent of the Pettisville School District, said district officials will begin providing students with educational activities today, Wednesday.
In a statement yesterday, Tuesday, Switizer said, “Pettisville Schools will start a phased rollout of some online educational activities, beginning with the junior high and high school this Wednesday, March 25.
“Some elementary classes sent hardcopy packets home with the students.
“There will be more information coming from all the elementary teachers in the near future.”
Switzer said students who receive free and reduced-price lunches will begin receiving meals, today, Wednesday.
“Meals will be picked up in the cove (along Co. Rd. D with a sign saying “Deliveries”) between 11:30 am and 12:20 pm. We will provide one week (seven days) of meals– breakfast and lunch– at a time,” Switzer said.
“As of Monday, March 23, we had 21 students signed up for meals. Mrs. (Sandy) Blackwood (head cook) plans to prepare and package all meals by herself to keep staff involvement to a minimum.”
Information to sign up for mails can be found on the district website, www.pettisvilleschools.org, under the COVID- 19 tab at the top of the page.
