Mary Ellen Schrock, 71, of New York City, N.Y., passed away June 28, 2018.
She lived and worked in New York City for the past 35 years, as well as enjoying the winter months in Bradenton, Fla., in recent years.
Mary Ellen was born in Pigeon, Mich., on June 5, 1947, to Glenn and Mary Gwendolyn (Smith) Schrock.
Mary Ellen was the oldest of six children. Her siblings are Sharon Almanza of Greenwood, Ind.; Beverly (Dennis) Betz of Amboy, Ill.; Jack Schrock (deceased) (Celeste) of Wauseon; Melinda Schrock of San Bernardino, Calif.; and Loretta (Andrew) Flood of Grafton, W.Va.
Mary Ellen is also survived by her longtime companion, Manny Fonseca of New York City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also leaves to mourn friends in New York, Bradenton, Fla., and Fulton County, Ohio, and many cousins living in the Fulton County area.
Mary Ellen loved to sing Sacred Harp/Shaped Notes and attended as many sings in the U.S. as she could manage. She also loved to travel, and even as ill as she was, still had trips planned in her mind.
