Marvin R. Storrer, age 78, of Archbold, went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Jan. 24, 2013, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born in Archbold on Nov. 10, 1934, the son of William and Helen (Schrenk) Storrer.
Marvin married Dorthy M. Leu on June 22, 1958, and was blessed with 54 years together.
He loved being with people– playing card games, golf, and pool. Most important to him was his faith, his family, friends, and his country.
He was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church.
Marvin served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Through his work in sales and management, he positively influenced others for over 30 years. Marvin’s love and interest in people were his hallmark characteristics.
From 1966 to 1969, Marvin and Dorthy, along with three of their children, served in Zaire for AIMM.
Surviving are his wife, Dorthy; their four children, Jennifer (Leslie) Rupp, Cincinnati, Tadd (Teresa) Storrer, Bellingham, Wash., Mindy (Doug) Shenk, Granger, Ind., and Rustin (Susan) Storrer, Westerville, and eight grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Marcia) Storrer, Morenci, Mich.; and one sister Betty (Richard) Riegsecker of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Aden Storrer.
Services were held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., at the Archbold Evangelical Church, with Pastor Jesse Kahler offi ciating. Interment was at the Archbold Cemetery with military services by the American Legions B.L.W. Post 311.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold was entrusted with the arrangements.
