Martinez Indicted In Alleged Stabbing



The Fulton County Grand Jury has returned a fourcount indictment against Carlos F. Martinez, the Defi- ance man who allegedly attacked a man and a woman in the woman’s home on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

The grand jury met Monday, Jan. 23, and returned indictments against 12 people, including Martinez and Shawn M. Maney, 24, Archbold. Maney was indicted on a single count of carrying a concealed weapon.

The Archbold police report on the Jan. 18 incident alleges Martinez forced his way into the home of Catrina L. Wright, 30, 310 Middle Street, then attacked her, striking her in the face.

He also allegedly used a knife to attack Jose L. Gutierrez, 30 to 40 years of age, address unknown. Gutierrez has not cooperated with Archbold police.

Martinez fled from the scene, and was captured by Defiance police on Friday, Jan. 20.

The indictment charges Martinez with two counts of aggravated burglary, one count of domestic violence, and one count of felonious assault.

Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecutor, said in a press release, “on or about Jan. 18, he (Martinez) allegedly trespassed in an occupied structure and is alleged to have knowingly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to another person with a deadly weapon.”

Maney

The indictment against Maney alleges that on or about Dec. 20, 2011, Maney had a handgun concealed on his person.

Others indicted during the Jan. 23 session of the grand jury:

Tara Ayala, 32, Wauseon; indicted on one count each, misuse of credit cards and theft; on or about Nov. 30 to Dec. 8, 2011, she allegedly stole between $1,000 and $7,500 in cash and used a credit card to obtain property, knowing or having reasonable cause to believe its use was in violation of law.

•Vashti M. Bowers, 23, Fayette; indicted on one count, aggravated burglary; on or about Jan. 7, allegedly trespassed in an occupied residence with purpose to commit a criminal offense and recklessly infl icted or attempted to inflict physical harm on another.

•Susan J Brunswick, 50, Swanton; indicted on one count, theft from an elderly person or disabled adult; on or about Dec. 17, 2011, she allegedly stole cash, a credit card, and a blank check from an elderly person.

•Phillip George, 43, Holland; indicted on nine counts of nonsupport of dependents; on or about Jan. 4, 2007 to Dec. 31, 2011, he allegedly failed to provide child support totaling $13,355.

•Brent A. Hardy, 29, Wauseon; indicted on one count, having weapons while under disability; on or about Jan. 7, allegedly possessed a firearm illegally.

•Gahlon A. Kunkle, 23, Fayette; indicted on two counts, aggravated burglary; on or about Jan. 7, allegedly trespassed in an occupied residence with purpose to commit a criminal offense, and, allegedly having a deadly weapon on his person, allegedly recklessly inflicted or attempted to inflict physical harm on another.

•Timothy J. Momyer, 52, Fayette; indicted on two counts each, gross sexual imposition and rape; on or about May 3, 2009 to Nov. 20, 2011, allegedly had sexual contact with a person under the age of 10.

•Lisa M. Perry, 28, Delta; indicted on one count each, safecracking, grand theft, and possession of heroin; on or about Aug. 1 to Oct. 18, 2011, she allegedly stole cash from an individual’s safe and possessed heroin.

•Ronnie Rudolph, 34, Fort Wayne, Ind., indicted on three counts, nonsupport of dependents; on or about Dec. 1, 2009 to May 31, 2011, allegedly failed to pay child support totaling $10,289.75.

•Scott A. Torok, 41, Swanton, indicted on one count grand theft of a motor vehicle, three counts breaking and entering; on or about Sept. 29 to Sept. 30, 2009, allegedly trespassed in an unoccupied storage shed, barn, and building, all in Swanton, with purpose to commit a theft offense; also allegedly stole a motor vehicle.
