Mark Twain’s Classic Comes To ACT Stage





What mischief-maker can resist the story of Tom Sawyer tricking friends into his chore of whitewashing the picket fence?

What thrill-seeker wouldn’t be excited about a search for gold or a murder by scary old Injun Joe?

And what romantic can’t appreciate the childhood engagement of Tom and Becky Thatcher?

Mark Twain’s timeless classic, Tom Sawyer, comes alive on the stage during Archbold Community Theater’s end-ofseason production, which runs two weekends, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22, and Friday- Sunday, Sept. 28-30, in Giffey Hall, Ridgeville Corners.

The production, which stars local talent of all ages, will transport audiences to the banks of the Mississippi River over 100 years ago for all the great moments of Tom Sawyer’s growing up adventures.

Eliot Pitman, Bryan, plays Tom, while Jacob Nofziger, Wauseon, stars as Huck. Other leading players include Sid Ramirez, Archbold, as Joe Harper; Claudia Seibert, Defi- ance, as Becky; Maggie Sugg, Delta, as Amy Lawrence; and Luis Kerswell, Liberty Center, as Injun Joe.
